Why Dog Health and Grooming Go Hand in Hand?

Pet grooming and their health are closely associated because this is a perfect chance to examine past their big eyes and the fluffy body. When you groom, you get to see what is underneath those hair.

While grooming your dog you are engaging in a hands on project and at the same time its where both your relationship increase and trust. During this time you can check for lumps, warts, and any other abnormality on their body.

When you do try to clip your dog's nails, you are able to see the bottoms of his feet to check if he has any broken nails or even any problems with his paw pads. A lot of owners always miss this infection which can turn out to be serious.

While cleaning his ears with a ear solution (never use water), if you notice any unusual smell or discharge, you should send your dog to the vet for a thorough check. Don't leave it unattended. It can become serious and can either cause your dog to become deaf or ears swollen.

Drying your dog should be a time of observation. This is the time when you will be able to see if your dog's skin has any puncture wounds, cuts and abrasions, infections and also for fleas and ticks.

Grooming your puppy or your adult dog, you are also teaching them that its a wonderful process. The more you teach your dog and giving lots of praise, the more attractive he will become.

When we look at our pets, they are full of hairs everywhere but if we look closer we may see much more that relates to their health. In return, this can help us to reduce a lot of vet trips.
