Chocolate is toxic to dogs because it contains theobromine, a compound similar to caffeine. It causes very similar side effects however in the dog much more pronounced such as vomiting, seizures, rapid heart rate and arrythmias and can even induce death in dogs. Different types of chocolate contain different amounts of theobromine.

Dog Scratching and Itching

In Singapore, one of the most common problems we seen in dogs are constant itching, scratching and licking all the time. Their skin becomes raw and red and they chew on their paws persistently eventually developed swollen and smelly paws. This has made a lot of dog owners anxiously searching for the causes behind the irritation in their pets and whatever treatment and/or medications that will cure this problem.


Occasional itching and scratching is a natural behavior in dogs. Problems only take place when the itching becomes extremely frequent.
